Notes: With a gift inscription to the flyleaf, linking this copy to the Bloomsbury Group: 'Saxon, from Dad, Christmas Day 1913'. The recipient was Saxon Sydney-Turner, a civil servant who had been a Cambridge Apostle, and there a friend of Clive Bell, Lytton Strachey, and Leonard Woolf. Beneath the gift inscription is the later ownership inscription of Michael Bagenal, the son of artist Barbara Bagenal (née Hiles) - she was a friend of Carrington from the Slade, with whom Sydney-Turner had a long relationship.
