VISIT US

Our shop is located at the heart of the city of Oxford, home to the oldest university in the English-speaking world, and an attractive destination for many reasons. Next door to our shop is the Bodleian Library, one of the oldest libraries in Europe and the second-largest library in Britain. Across the street are Sir Christopher Wren’s Sheldonian Theatre and Nicholas Hawksmoor’s Clarendon Building, both architectural masterpieces and former homes of the Oxford University Press. Almost all the buildings on Broad Street are listed by English Heritage as being of significant historical importance, including the Blackwell's shopfront.

Blackwell's Rare Books is open from 9 AM to 6 PM Monday to Saturday, except on Tuesday when we open at 9:30 AM. The remainder of the Blackwell Oxford bookshop opens on Sunday from 11 AM to 5 PM.

Our location is shown on the map opposite. For driving directions from your specific location, provided by Google, please click the link below the map. Oxford is easily reachable from the London-Birmingham motorway (M40).

We are under three-quarters of a mile from the Oxford railway station, providing easy service to and from London Paddington station. The main central Oxford bus and coach depot at Gloucester Green is roughly halfway between Broad Street and the railway station.
