Description: FIRST EDITION, full-page map, faint handling mark to verso of Contents page, pp. 320, crown 8vo, original black boards, backstrip lettered in gilt with slight lean to spine, upper board with skull design blocked in blind and gilt, edges slightly toned, contemporary ownership inscription to flyleaf, a couple of light handling marks to fore-margin of free endpapers, dustjacket with a Richard Chopping design, very faint pink mark to fore-margin of front panel, a couple of tiny spots to top corner of same, light vertical crease to inner margin of front panel, backstrip panel slightly chipped at ends and a little darkened at foot, a few very faint spots to rear panel and to flaps, very good
