Description: FIRST EDITION, frontispiece and 90 monochrome plates with 5 figures to the text, manuscript correction to a typo (by A.N.L. Munby) on p. 65, pp. viii, 69 + PLates, 4to, original sage-green cloth, lettered in gilt to upper board and backstrip, the former within an oval-border design, backstrip lightly faded through the jacket, faintest of spots to front endpapers, dustjacket with a little chipping at ends of backstrip panel and the odd nick elsewhere, very good

Notes: A superb association copy, inscribed on the flyleaf: 'Geoffrey, from Tim, 31 July 1951'. The recipient was Sir Geoffrey Keynes, the inscriber is A.N.L. Munby - Librarian at King's College, Cambridge, and one of the contributors to this volume, where he describes the library of the Bedfordshire house (correcting a typo to a date on p. 65).
