Notes: A scarce first edition, this copy all the more desirable - bearing as it does on the flyleaf the inscription 'Gerald, with love from John B.', i.e. to Lord Berners from Betjeman. Berners was the dedicatee of Betjeman's early poetry collection 'Continual Dew', and the younger man was a regular visitor to Faringdon House.
