Notes: The rare first edition of one of Walker's numerous Gothic novels in the manner of Ann Radcliffe. There is a laconic Preface, which reads in its entirety: 'In compliance with the present Taste in Literary Amusement, this work is presented to the Public.' ESTC records Bodleian only in the UK, Huntington and Texas in North America, and the Fisher Library in Sydney. COPAC adds NLS.
