The ownership inscription is that of the foreign correspondent, aged 21 and serving in the British Indian Army he shortly after attended Magdalene College, Cambridge, before embarking on his distinguished career in journalism. Behr, in his own memoirs, called Waugh's 'Scoop' 'the best book ever written about the press' and one that he read 'about once every two years' throughout his life.

1947, pp. [iv], 88, crown 8vo, original blue cloth, backstrip lettered in gilt (the lettering a little dulled and rubbed), very slight wear at one corner, top edge blue, endpapers a little browned, the flyleaf with the contemporary ownership inscription of Edward Behr (see below), dustjacket by John Piper, a little chipped, nicked and rubbed with some faint spotting and a few light marks to rear panel, very good
