Bookseller Notes

Signed by Lord Dunsany, in his characteristically bold style, at the foot of his Introduction; an autograph letter from the same is tipped to the flyleaf, addressed to Lady Rugby and suggesting that 'this book might interest you, as it is of country that you know, although it tells of a time when it was more civilized'.The book is a memoir of the author's childhood and youth in an Irish country house (Abbey House in Roscommon) at the end of the nineteenth-century, which Dunsany praises for its serenity.
