Publisher's Synopsis
The 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max, which were introduced on September 7 and are being marketed alongside the less expensive iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, are Apple's newest premium flagship smartphones. The 14 Pro variants differ greatly from the standard iPhone 14 models in terms of functionality, including faster A16 processors, better displays, and advances in camera technology.
- The 6.1 and 6.7-inch 14 Pro variants are identical to the iPhone 13 Pro models in terms of its flat corners, stainless steel body, textured matte glass back, IP68 water resistance, and Ceramic Shield-protected display.
- The Dynamic Island, which Apple refers to as a pill-shaped depression at the front of the display that stores camera technology and may alter in size and form depending on what is visible on the screen, now houses the True Depth camera system.
- Apple claims that Dynamic Island aims to obfuscate the distinction between software and hardware. The notch might be replaced in real time by notifications, alerts, and activities.
- The Super Retina XDR display on the 14 Pro is superior than the Pro Display XDR in terms of peak HDR brightness, reaching up to 2000 nits, and Always-On technology.
- The improved 16-core Neural Engine in the A16, together with a faster 6-core CPU and faster 5-core GPU with 50% higher memory bandwidth, can do 17 trillion operations per second.
- There is also a 2x Telephoto mode, which employs the 12 megapixels in the middle of the 48-megapixel lens to take full-resolution pictures without using digital zoom.
- The 14 Pro variants of the newest iPhones can shoot at the full 48MP with ProRAW, allowing them to produce excellent, professional photographs.
- The TrueDepth front-facing camera now supports autofocus and has an improved f/1.9 aperture. The new features added to the Adaptive True Tone flash
- Night Mode, Smart HDR 4, Portrait Mode, and Photographic Styles are still available. There are nine LEDs in all, and their pattern changes depending on the focal length of the lens.
- The A16 processor in Apple's 14 Pro models powers the Photonic Engine, which improves all lenses' low-light performance.
- Both 4K at 24 fps and 4K at 30 fps are now supported by the new Cinematic Mode.
- The 14 Pro variant's dual-core accelerometer can record up to 256Gs of acceleration. The potential benefit of the crash detection feature
- Apple also makes use of extra sensors so, the GPS can keep track of variations in speed, and the microphone could be able to pick up noises from car crashes.
- Apple enhanced the iPhone 14 with Emergency SOS via satellite. It operates all throughout Canada and the United States for two years at no cost.
- The 14 Pro versions employ the new Qualcomm X65 modem, which offers 5G connectivity (sub-6GHz and mmWave in the US). American iPhones no longer come with actual SIM cards since carriers now utilize eSIM instead.
- The battery life of the 14 Pro and Pro Max is now an hour longer than that of the iPhone 13 Pro. The Pro Max can last up to 29 hours when viewing movies, compared to the 14 Pro's 23 hours.
- The 14 Pro models include storage capacities of 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. While quick charging via Lightning requires a charger with a power output of at least 20W, MagSafe charging up to 15W is still supported. The 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max also support WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3.
