Xhanga

Five hundred years ago, the Portuguese established a fort in northern Brazil. Chloe, the fort captain's daughter, loved the Lord and had the voice of an angel. Her singing in the villages brought about a peace between the natives and European colonialists that was uncommon in that era.
All was well until Chloe and a bold native named Xhanga fell in love. Chloe's father's disapproval of the relationship led to his committing a great inhumanity against Xhanga's village. In response, Xhanga retreated deep into the rainforest with his bride, vowing revenge-in-kind against all with skin paler than his own.
It was said that the tribe of Xhanga flourished in the rainforest for centuries far from the reaches of western civilization. Did the Xhanga really exist, or were they legend only? All who ventured to find out never returned, so the mystery remained.
