Many Teachers having expressed a desire for an Abridgment of Worship in the School Room, with the addition of a Second Part, containing tunes of a. More popular character, which might furnish a more pleasing and desirable variety for the Singing -class and School, the Author placed in my hands his correspondence with various eficient Superintendents and Leaders of Music in Sabbath Schools, that I might revise and arrange the material for this part. Nothing has been inserted in this, it is believed, which will not be pleasing and useful in the School and Family.
Very many of these pieces have been fully tested as to their hold on the hearts of the young others written especially for this book, and appearing new for the first time, it is hoped, will make many friends.
