Publisher's Synopsis

The willingness to change came when the pain was just too much to endure anymore. A man's journey through the perils of alcoholism and how his passion of cycling led to incredible feats of endurance. Faced with adversity Bob Olden reinvents himself and discovers a world filled with opportunity.

At an early age Bob was powerless over alcohol resulting in him committing reprehensible acts. During times of abstinence he achieves great success on a bicycle including winning the Adirondack 540, which was ranked the 14th hardest endurance, in the world in 2010, by Peak 100. With his astonishing 38 hour and 16 minute non stop ride he qualified for the Race Across America.

With triumph came failure consisting of numerous alcohol related offenses resulting him forfeiting his privilege to drive again. Not only did his actions affect him, but had a ripple effect on the many people around him. If not for a Court Order he may have not found the courage to ask for the help that he desperately needed. It's the love of his boys over drinking that ultimately stops the downward spiral.

His journey, revealed for the first time, takes him from the Adirondacks of Upstate New York to Utah and back, working an array of different jobs that would contribute to his future calling as a fitness professional. His resilience continues to push him to achieving incredible feats of endurance.

Today Bob owns a successful Fitness Studio that gives him the joy of helping others. In 2023 he achieved a personal best of riding 15,000 miles and running 1,500 miles, accumulating 840,957 vertical feet of elevation gain.

Only by making amends can Bob find solace in himself and ultimately be set free.
