The world is a wasteland. The United States, Russia, China, and others, are but hollow shells and no longer superpowers, or even considered viable countries. Michael Ashe is one of the few old enough to remember the time before the wars that destroyed his home and family. Now he travels, scrounges, and survives the only way he knows how, by himself. Surviving from the beginning of the conflicts, he wanders from place to place, trying to find somewhere safe and away from radiation, disease, the enemy that still occupied his country, and those survivors within that that would kill him as easily as any foreign combatant. Following the rumors of places of safety and security, each an empty hope. Now he heads in the only direction he's yet to try. An area supposedly free of radiation and the dreaded roving cannibal bands of madmen...
