Sir: I have the honor to submit herewith a trade directory of South America compiled under the supervision of C. S. Donaldson, Chief of the Division of Consular Reports, irom lists furnished by American consular o icers. Since the publication of the World Trade Directory m 1911 the lists of South American importers and dealers have been thoroughly revised and rearranged according to uniform classiñcations. These lists are issued at this time With the hope that they Will materially assist American manufacturers and exporters in developing the greater trade opportunities presented through the opening of the Panama Canal.
