Delilah Daniels, though warned against it, travels too deep into the forest and unknowingly passes through a veil to another world that coexists within her own. She is captured by beings that see humans as subservient creatures and is forced into servitude. Delilah is bought and romantically pursued by Lord Dagon de Bellemont; a handsome, powerful and feared aristocrat who is, what can only be described as, a vampire. At Dagon's estate, Delilah finds an ally in Wes, a hybrid, who promises to help her with her one desire: to escape. Delilah soon finds out that a family heirloom passed down to her is actually the key to a powerful treasure and it sends her on a quest, through dangers untold, with the two men.
