Reminders of the dying world wander the streets as rotting meat, no goals or purpose, no conscious thought. An incessant need to feed, their only reason to exist, it was all they were, a cruel joke played by Conquest to make War's task more difficult, but war figured out how to beat it.
One mind, one person, one incessant will...was all it took. Someone who didn't worry about the big picture, she simply did what needed to be done, regardless of pictures or opinions. A wall against the plague, stalwart in her resolve, a killer by the old world standards, a savior in the new. Lisa had rescued the group trying to get into the secure facility half way between Hot Springs and Little Rock. Or at least that was how the history books would read. In truth it was her ass that needed to be pulled from the fire, as much as anyone else's. Foul news had come, a quarter of a million zombies were headed straight for them and straight for Hot Springs. To turn and run would mean that invaluable supplies would be lost as Little Rock writhed with the undead bringing Hot Springs closer to its own demise. Running would also mean that the zombie army would grow all the way to the gates of their safe zone. Beating down that many of the undead would be problematic to say the least. For Lisa, there was only one option, stand this pig of a quarter million undead up and kick it in the nuts. Live or die, the game was on and Lisa held all the cards. War smiled, he had chosen well.
