Publisher's Synopsis

This science fiction adventure is about a disgruntled doctor who, infuriated by modern medical practice demands, practices in secret and uses lectures given by patients and friends to recruit patients to his underground practice. He and his associates all but take over the local hospital, unknown to its administration.

It was, in fact, written by a disgruntled doctor who is infuriated by modern medical practice demands.

Alternative medicine treatments are part of the plot and are explained for the layman. The underground medical practice uses these treatments, and you learn to use them too while reading.

The novel includes is also a scene in which three frustrated doctors use well-explained scientific principles, while roaring drunk, to make a complete mockery of organized medicine using bad puns. More seriously, the political pressures that lead to high health-care cost are explained (as of 2005). Though laws change from time to time, principles of human relations never change and remain current even now (2019) and beyond.

The novel ends with a tribute to Ayn Rand and ❝Atlas Shrugged.❞
