An Air Force captain arrives for assignment at Thule Air Base, Greenland. He soon discovers the body of a fellow officer floating in a nearby fjord. As winter darkens the arctic, Captain Ross burrows ever deeper into the mystery of the officer's death. The story takes us from the Cold War's northernmost outpost to the streets of Berlin, Germany, before revealing the ugliest of outcomes.
