This book, Entrepreneur-ing - How to Use Entrepreneurial Skills To Launch Your Own Business or to Be the Boss of Your Career, breaks down the steps to be an entrepreneur with lessons on applying it to your career or your own venture (and many of you can do both sides of these lessons and win / win on every aspect of your lives). This might be the first "ebook" of its kind that comes with its own professor. I am passionate about sharing this knowledge and in helping as many people as possible to unlock the careers they are destined to have. You can have a career as an entrepreneur or improve your career in corporate America (or insert any country, really) with me. I have experience as being an executive, educator and entrepreneur since 1999. I have lived and worked in other countries for various amounts of time and my focus on project management, teaching and learning means this book will walk you through your path unlike any other. Why be an entrepreneur and create your own business: For many subsets of the population, particularly women and minorities, the focus is on building value in your lives through your own businesses. The rates of entrepreneurship has been going through the roof. For many people who are raising young children, having flexibility is key to the career path. I will not tell you being an entrepreneur is "easier" but you can work around your children's schedules a little more easily than at any established company. If you have a passion or an idea, you need to learn how to nurture it and grow it. My unique advice will help you to focus on this venture as a part-time prospect at first - you can follow my steps and lessons while working full time or part time on the side or you can commit yourself to this system / learnings full time. In any way you slice or chunk it, your time will be best spent reading and learning from me in this book. Why be an entrepreneur in your corporate career: No one will look out for your growth and career as well as you can. You need to be proactive and focused in order to truly unlock your career potential. You can be anything you apply yourself to be if you can continue learning. A big part of this book will teach you to have the drive and ability to continue learning at your speed and at your level. Not everyone will be an "A" student and not everyone should be - the goal is just to be a student period in any way shape of form to help continue to grow and learn on a daily basis. So much is changing in the field of careers and business with technology being poised to take over many jobs by 2020 that are now primarily held by women but can affect any gender. Your fields of customer service, banking, administrative assistants and more can be impacted by these leaps and bounds of technology and AI that can take away these roles. Lisa Vento Nielsen is a business executive, educator and entrepreneur. She has over 13 years experience in Corporate America and Higher Education. With her work in Corporate America, she has extensive hiring and resume experience. As an adjunct professor at local NYC colleges, her insight into what colleges want and how to present yourself is extremely valuable for your next step. Lisa has a BS degree in Marketing and a MBA in International Finance, both from St John's University. Her MBA is from the Rome, Italy campus of St John's University, where she learned how to speak Italian. Upon returning to the United States, she began her career in the financial services and publishing industries. She excelled at Project Management and is a certified Project Management Professional since 2004 with PMI. She left Corporate America to focus on teaching and entrepreneurial pursuits. Lisa began teaching at the University level in 2003 and learned she has a passion and a knack for teaching complex topics with a mix of real world and academic expertise.
