Fireflies, or lightning bugs, as some would call them, embraced little Tommy as he ventured out to the beautiful Mountain View lake that lay just a few hundred yards out in the backyard of his parent's house in northern Montana. This was his getaway spot. A spot that he could travel out to with his teddy bear and lamp and escape into the land of the fireflies.It was more than just the fireflies that made it exciting. They brought a whole new world with them. One that was full of wonder and joy and happiness. Nothing else mattered when little Tommy came here. This was Heaven, and the fireflies...they were the angels. The lake itself became known as The Lake of Wonder. A place where children escaped from their broken homes into The Wonder it brought with it.
