The House on River Road is about the adventures of three young boys during the summer of 1951 in the fictitious town of Little Muddy Water. The story is told through the eyes of David (Butch) Fairburn. David's best friends are Marven (Chookie) Morris and Walter (Fish) Fisher. They call themselves the "Three Musketeers."A sleepover at a haunted house, a spirit, a mysterious stranger named Bonaparte Blackbird, clashes with a school bully, and a little mischief at the stockyard that attracts the attention of the local police officer, are a few of the adventures the "Three Musketeers" encounter during their summer vacation.
