Publisher's Synopsis
The Farfox Chronicles gives a fictionalized account in verse of events that took place-or conceivably could have taken place-in Northern England between 875 and 900 A.D. During those years, a band of monks really did flee from the invading Vikings (then called Danes), carrying the allegedly undecayed body of St. Cuthbert, who had died as Bishop of Lindesfarne two hundred years earlier. As the monks make their way from village to village, we learn how scattered families can come together to help each other in a crisis, how the young find their way in the world, and what some will endure to preserve holiness.
