All of this is the elemental teaching of the Catho lic Church, and every true child of the Church is aworthy child of the age he lives in and of the coun try which gives him birth. N 0 true Catholic will be unmindful of those facts; neither will he be for getful that as love, reverence, help and obedience must be shown first of all to the parents who have given him life, so, too, Love, Loyalty, Reverence, Help and Obedience are demanded of him by ithe Church which has given him life eternal here on earth. The Catholic Church is our Mother; She has borne us within her bosom; nourished us at her breasts; taught us; guided our faltering steps through life, and has protected us against our enemies, saved us even from ourselves.
