The golden dragon book Charlie Higgins found in his uncle's attic in England doesn't seem to be working as the clock book did last summer. Why isn't the magic of the Land of the Presence helping now? Startled by the sudden approach of his best friend, Ben Sparks, Charlie tries to hide his golden dragon book but drops it, revealing the secret to Ben who is very uncomfortable with its existence. Worlds away, Queen Muriphany and Wenzel have built the beautiful Dragon Kingdom with the help of the dragons and the seventeen traitors of Malek. Peace has been restored to the Land of the Presences, or so it seems! Trouble is lurking under the surface and is ready to explode without warning! Somehow Charlie and Ben have made their way into the Dragon Kingdom. Charlie is ecstatic to be back, but Ben is utterly angry at being forced away from his hometown in Howell, Michigan to a strange land. They find themselves in the middle of an evil plan by a rogue dragon, a former ally of the Presence, and an ancient sea creature who want to take over the Dragon Kingdom and eventually the world! It seems Charlie and Ben have been chosen to try to save the Dragon Kindom, and ultimately the Land of the Presence, from destruction. Will they be up to the task or will they be outnumbered?
