How much the well informed Apostle might have written of these momentous events to the Ephesian Christians hundreds of miles away! Certainly he was sensitive to the pulsations of political and social currents of his day. And yet the amazing fact stands out that he was so occupied with transcendent realities that he barely mentioned the events of time. He merely asked his readers not to be alarmed at his imprisonment; what suffering he endured would even work out for their glory.
