In the Battle for North Beach, a small downtown district of San Francisco, known as North Beach is the Italian hub of the city and borders the Financial District, Chinatown, Telegraph Hill, Russian Hill, and Fisherman's Wharf. The neighborhood is enjoying people from all over the world coming into their cafes and restaurants, however when the locals start to get greedy, North Beach society takes a turn for the worst, becoming a city-state along with the rest of the downtown districts. A monarchy forms and history is made. Eleven-year old, Lorenzo Lucchesi's novel depicts a struggle between two classes and the fight for justice in the small city-state.
