Publisher's Synopsis
The Art of War, by Niccolo Machiavelli, written from 1519 to 1520, is set up as a dialogue that spans seven chapters. In this book, Machiavelli draws on many ideas and themes, and also puts forth some proposals which are greatly influenced by his earlier more popular books like The Prince and The Discourses. Machiavelli, a man who did not leave anything to chance, quickly climbed up the ranks in government, attached himself to powerful and experienced leaders, whom he learnt a great deal from.
