Publisher's Synopsis
Triple-bill of horror films. In 'Shrooms' (2006), five American students arrive in Ireland to go camping with their old college friend Jake (Jack Huston), and decide to try out the local magic mushrooms, apparently the best in the world. But after they start tripping, reality and imagination begins to blur, as Jake tells stories of mutilated bodies and unsolved murders. Soon, members of the group start to go missing, and panic sets in when they begin to think something, or someone, is stalking them. But is it all just a case of bad trip paranoia, or is there really a crazed madman in their neck of the woods? In 'Dead Silence' (2007), Mary Shaw (Judith Roberts) was a popular entertainer until she was accused of murdering a young boy. After she was captured by the vengeful townspeople her tongue was cut out before she was mercilessly killed and committed to the earth in the company of her collection of vaudeville dolls. In the years that followed, the town seemed to be haunted by the puppets and after mysteriously disappearing from Mary's grave, the menacing figurines would sometimes be glimpsed by the damned in the dead of night - their appearance consistently foreshadowing the death of whoever laid eyes upon them. Newlyweds Jamie (Ryan Kwanten) and Lisa Ashen (Laura Regan) both grew up in Ravens Fair. Now, following Lisa's inexplicable death, Jamie has returned to the pair's hometown in order to say his final goodbyes and find out the truth about his wife's enigmatic demise. After being reunited with his ailing father (Bob Gunton) and the aging man's pretty young bride (Amber Valletta), the grieving widower will finally uncover the shocking truth behind the curse that has plagued Ravens Fair for as far back as he can remember. Finally, in 'Wind Chill' (2007), during Christmas break, a young college student (Emily Blunt) who has just broken up with her boyfriend seeks a lift home for the holidays. Upon checking the student 'ride board' she sees that there is a boy (Ashton Holmes) offering a ride in her direction and she decides to take it. Racing to beat a severe winter storm, the two young travellers take a shortcut down a remote country road, only to find themselves forced into a snow bank by a mysterious oncoming vehicle that seems to be playing a game of chicken. Over the long, cold night that ensues, an intense relationship develops between the pair as they slowly realise that there is more to fear than just freezing to death...
