Publisher's Synopsis
This text answers the question: "Where will we make a profit tomorrow?" The answer is that some companies know how to find and mine their profit zone - that part of their economic environment which the skills of those companies can exploit. Case studies to support the profit zone model fall into two camps. In the first are companies who could not make a decent profit out of an enormous market share: IBM, DEC, GM, Ford, United Airlines, Kodak, WordPerfect, Sears and KMart. In the second are those who didn't need a market share to enjoy an enormous profit: GE, Swatch, Schwab, Intel, Disney, Thermo-electron, and ASEA Brown Boveri.
