Hundreds of women grace the pages of God's Word. Each unique and different in her own way, these women speak through the Bible today. Many of their lives and hearts are open books for us to study and glean from. Many carried broken spirits needing revival and restoration. Through some facet of each of their lives, we can recognize a little of ourselves. Like diamonds in the rough, the women I read in God's Word - their lives, their challenges, and their hope - encourage my spirit. Challenges, trials, and triumphs encompass very obscure women in the Bible, but deeply impacted great men and women for centuries. These stories we read were real, full of temptations and faults, but were also full of love as we love, and hurt as we hurt. Purified as precious stones, the women of the Bible impact our hearts today.I believe we can all find a woman we relate to. Whether barren or pregnant, joy or sorrow, married or single, all of God's women were blessed in an insurmountable way.The matriarchs, the women who paved the road with their lives, sat at the foot of Christ. They wept at the cross, miraculously received healing, birthed new generations of godly leaders and prayed over their children and husbands. Each was flesh and blood, and heart and soul. These women are written in the Word of God for a reason. Their strong and courageous testimonies strengthen Christian women today. Our Lord chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; He chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things and the things that are not to nullify the things that are so that no one may boast before Him (1 Corinthians 1:27-28).
