Publisher's Synopsis

Do you like F1 or high-speed motor racing? Then this tale from the 3rd World is not for you. ON THE OOTHER SIDE is the story of one plucky FORTE KALINSKY who as Formula One promoter and team owner was too quick too soon and exposed the big bosses in his maiden season. So the boss of bosses orders his removal from the sport with subsequent ban to the scary motor desert called African bushlands. Its eastern shoreboards. But Forte Kalinsky has luck on his side and the banning order ends as Zureya fetches him from Cairo airport. In a particular Russian-made Fiat they are heading for the Gizeh Plateau. Meanwhile, Kalinsky turns 3rd World savvy. Zureya and her desert associates endowed him with the revolutionary spirit and send him on to Nairobi. He suffers thru an unnerving day dream on the plane which puts him in touch with the great traveller and historian of the Antiquities, HERODOTUS. In Kenya it is revealed that Formula racing had its origins in the remote Weremoka forest, on border to Uganda. Where an ancient engine from petrified wood is propped up on stilts in Dr Hokus`s research hut. Apparently, the 4 cylinder model was used in wobbly Ostrich carts during time of Pharao BOSSI the 8th. When daring jockeys raced the carts in and around and underneath the Gizeh Pyramids, around 2500BC. Kalinsky`s journey along the eastern shores of Africa sees him take a bus from gritty, grainy upside-down country to FLOODLANDS. Here, in between deltas, overflow lagoons and swamps, the AKWAHAWK, an ocean-going car with surfing prowess, awaits his discovery...A huge flood sinks and drenches the land, the beach, the lagoons and all motoring conferences in FLOODLANDS. The AKWAHAWK saves him from disaster and he rides some awesome wave barrels...
