Publisher's Synopsis
This is a 8,000 words CLEAN story with an HEA. Whole Serial is part of a bigger plot. Check for other books in this serial. "He didn't believe she was dead, not yet anyway. He turned, bent down towards the floor and dipped an imitation Shakespearean quill into her puddled blood and then, he turned back to the desk in front of him and continued to write with the warm blood. The scraping sound continued as the quill moved across the paper." Kelly Anne Moore, San Francisco homicide detective, leads a life that is full of intrigue, suspense and daily danger, but somehow she still manages to attempt to have a normal life until a murdered victim ends up in her own bed! As she concentrates on her job of investigating local San Francisco homicides, a serial killer sets his sights on ten women, including Kelly in his horrific list. Suddenly, Kelly- the- huntress is now Kelly- the- hunted. Kelly is well liked by her police colleagues and though she would like to have a (quote) "normal" life, normalcy always seems to allude her. Her best friend is Joshua Kincaid, though he would definitely love to be elevated to the position of "boyfriend," he contents himself with sharing a few meals during the week, a movie, or an occasional 'show of a romantic front' for their families. It was Kelly's idea to fake a romance to keep their families from continually asking if they were seeing anyone. Joshua isn't aware that a colleague of hers, whom she calls Corduroy, also would like to be the number one man in her life. Kelly is oblivious to her two suitors as she untangles the web surrounding the murder of an Asian transvestite. Even though she shockingly finds out that she is on a serial killer's murder list, Kelly does not let fear control her life and interfere with her life or her job. If asked how she could be so stalwart and brave, Kelly would undoubtedly answer that her bravery was all due to Sir James. Then, she would wink. Yet, "Somewhere across the city a steady hand dipped a quill pen in a puddle of fresh bright inflamed red blood and meticulously wrote painful tormenting words on a blank icy- white piece of paper."
