Publisher's Synopsis
Victoria's memories flow through swiftly like a river. Faces of those she tortured and killed screams inside of her. A pain that needs to be released, are never remembered again. Wanting to embrace the darkness, where there is no Raven, and no pain and sorrow.Victoria cast a spell on herself, it might take decades to fade. She thought back to when she was mortal. Decade felt like eternity, now, time is nothing more than a breath in the harsh winds. Her heart nearly crumbles when she looks at Alex sleeping peacefully for the first time. His strong jaw, his dark hair, his full lips that warm her whenever they touched her skin. He was the only thing she wished she could take with her, but for the spell to work properly, she had to leave him.Pain shot though her heart knowing how much she loved him, but she was still full of darkness and she knew she couldn't give him the love he needed. It was time to forget who she was, and what she had done. At least for now she would be in peace. She knew it was only temporary all memories would return, but at what cost. Her mind was clear. The moon fell from the sky, bathing the tops of the dense forest in a gray and silver glow. Shadows dances along the outer edges of the trees. She raced through the darkness traveling faster than ever before. He cold air rushing past her doing nothing to cool her pain. She reached the end of the street and paused briefly, noting the moon's sinking, it's position in the sky.It made her sick to think of Alex was still behind. It filled her rage igniting every nerve ending on fire. Slowly her memorizes start to disappear. The leaves covered the quiet street. The pebbled asphalt leading to a small duplex seemed undisturbed, the trees changing colors in the long stretch across the walkway. She stopped in front of it feeling a sensation crawl down her skin. She inhaled deeply taking in the scent around her, this would be her home. At least for now.
