Publisher's Synopsis
To avoid an impending marriage and bill collectors, Rutherford, a newly freed slave and rogue, jumps aboard the first boat leaving New Orleans. However, it is a slave ship bound for Africa. Thus begins a voyage of horror and self-discovery.
