Publisher's Synopsis
As the first edition of this pedagogical tool in Microbiology is completed, I was cheered up and enthused irrespective of the many challenges encountered on the way. Incalculable number of days was spent in the preparation, coordination, planning, writing and editing of this Textbook but those periods of temporal setbacks were inundated with the enormity of passion I had to produce a material that will serve as a guide to students and academicians in Bacteriology. The most important goal in launching this new Textbook in Bacteriology is to offer to microbiology students and tutors in Nigeria something better; a comprehensive, updated bacteriology textbook featuring an inquiry into the microbial world. This textbook contains foundational and invaluable topics that cover the breadth and depth of bacteriology suitable for both undergraduate and postgraduate students studying microbiology in the university or polytechnic. It encompasses introductory and general aspects of bacteriology; and it is suitable for all microbiology courses taught at pre-clinical and clinical levels. This textbook is the zenith of my savoir-faire of learning, research and teaching on the field of microbiology. It will provide you, the reader with the must-have knowledge you need to succeed in your quest into the world of bacteria. This textbook is a standard reference material for teaching and research in bacteriology; and it is a must-have for other biological and medical science students whose curriculum includes the study of bacteria. Tutors of Microbiology and researchers in the field of microbiology in either the government or academic institutions will find this textbook to be a supportive piece of material in their quest for reliable information in Bacteriology. The topics and illustrations embodied in this textbook are presented in the simple and easy-to-use arrangement for a hands-on knowledge acquisition and dissemination. The textbook was born out of my conviction of unraveling and making unambiguous the key topics taught in the area of Bacteriology, and also to provide a material that both students and instructors of the subject can rely on and always refer to when in doubt of issues that shall arise in their enquiry into the world of bacteria. I am very confident that you (the reader) will gain professional knowledge even as you open and read through the pages of this wonderful reference material in a meditative approach. In this work, an attempt has been made to bring out and make comprehensible some of the guiding principles and techniques in the area of Bacteriology succinctly. I am convinced that this piece of work will serve as a very good companion to all Microbiology students and Tutors of Microbiology worldwide. MicroDok's Bacteriology is good for pedagogical training; and students and tutors will both find this textbook a companion in their quest for knowledge and research in the area of bacteriology. Additional information on other Topics in Microbiology is available online at: www.microdok.com. This book would not have been completed if I was to wait for perfection.
