They Show how these Objects were attained through the benevolence, the sagacity, and the firmness of an Officer whose name is almost unknown to the British public, but whose earnest desire was that good men Should think well of him. They may also serve to convey to the reader some idea of the labours and anxieties of Indian Political life.
