Publisher's Synopsis
This is a book about metaphysics, specifically who we are, what we're doing here, and where we're going. However, unlike other books on the subject, it is written for those of us who are unlikely to ever meditate, unlikely to hum mantras or worship crystals, or engage in aroma therapy. (We do chant on occasion, but only after drinking single malt.) Basically it is written for men, (and women who think like men)who have difficulty relating to the warm and fuzzy nature of most other metaphysical books. (My editor was horrified to learn that the book was written for only half of the reading public, actually less than half considering that many men just haunt book stores cruising for chicks). * * * * * * * * * Suppose you knew a secret. Maybe you have an inside tip on the stock market. Maybe some information on an upcoming business deal. Maybe some dirt about someone in your neighborhood. Suppose you knew a secret about your best friend. Wouldn't it change the way you looked at that friend? Could you really go on thinking about that person in the same way you did before? But suppose you suddenly discovered a secret about yourself. A most important secret. Would you ignore it? Could you pretend it didn't change the way you looked at yourself? Metaphysics is a secret about yourself. Actually, it's the most important secret of your life; where you came from, what you're doing here, and where you're going. Macho Metaphysics is about the mysteries of life. It's a short book, because the mysteries of life aren't as complicated as most would have you believe. It discusses your lessons, your mission here and gives you some practical indicators for your eventual success or failure in learning those lessons. It's a fun book; non-threatening and non-intimidating. It's written for those of us who spend our vacations at the beach and in the mountains, in Las Vegas and Florida, not Peru and the Himalayas. It's written for you. Nowadays, almost every metaphysical book review includes the phrase "this book will change your life." This book is not meant to change your life. It is meant to allow you to indulge in the fun of living, which surprisingly turns out to be the fun of learning about yourself. No book can change your life. But sometimes we can change the books. Hopefully this book will bring you some answers, probably along with some conflict, but mostly an appreciation of enlightenment. CHAPTER HEADINGS; 1. AWAKENING 2. ENLIGHTENMENT 3. ENERGY 4.
