Silence. Two hundred years of silence. The kingdom of Altasia is a pinnacle of civilization, thriving and still. But it's people have long since forgotten this age came only by a drastic war and a great sacrifice. Sensing that their peace is only temporary, General Peitar and his companions leave their homes in Taelon to search for proof of the existence of magic. When a seemingly accidental encounter with three siblings turns out to be a trap set by Peitar's longtime enemy, an alliance is formed out of desperation. However, the siblings are suspicious of everyone. Especially Zaedyn who always seems to teeter on the line between ethics and survival. Their attempt to escape the forest and those hunting them sends them on a telltale path, exposing a compendium of lies and a series of twisted plots, all of which is dragging the kingdom towards a bitter war. One that Peitar knows they can no longer avoid.
