Publisher's Synopsis

Issues relating to India and China have received much academic attention in recent times. India and China have after the end of Cold War sustained high economic growth, expanding military capabilities and development of technologies. Relations between the two Asian giants have experienced profound upheaval over the past five decades. A closer examination of the Chinese and Indian perspectives on the emerging world order reveal that their differences are many. The major problem lies in the unsettled border boundary. Besides this, Chinese military presence in PoK, Tibet, Tawang, Sino-Pak conventional, nuclear and missile collaborations and China's String of Pearls had made her more ambitious and aggressive in dealing with India. In spite of these major differences, the relationship between India and China has a global significance. There are some areas where they have cooperated.
