The year is 2140 and seventeen-year-old Sid Hines is alone in a world at war. On the last day of summer before his senior year, Sid Hines flees the chaos of an abusive family life for the safety of the forest. His truck breaks down, he becomes lost, and Sid is captured by an indigenous people who force him to realize the savage nature of his ways and a history of hypocrisy that humans have long wished to forget. Released by his captors, Sid embarks upon a journey of both mind and body, confronting not only the monster that lies within, but also the beast that exists without. The more deeply Sid enters the wilderness, the more profound his transformation becomes.
