The portion of Chapter XII concerning the old stumps at Blanc Sablon has been pub lished in Rhodora for September, 1916, and a part of Chapter XIII has been published in the Seventh Annual Report of the Commission of Conservation, Canada, 1916. Chapter XIV was published in The Auk, for 1914.
In the Index will be found the scientific names of the plants and animals referred to in the text.
