Publisher's Synopsis
Hunt for the Defender is a coming-of-age story following the protagonist, Eugene Russell. Russell, 17-years-old, lives with his wheel-chair bound grandmother, military scientist uncle, and younger cousin in the Brookland neighborhood of New Columbia (America's capital city). Unknown to him, two assassins from the future, a present military army, and an ancient warlord from the past converge on him for one thing: His murder. Learning of this truth, Eugene discovers that he is the prophesied future leader called the Defender, humanity's greatest warrior and the last hope for good. Confronted by such great hostility and pressure, he must join with the president of the United States to fight his and other international enemies to halt the coming genocide of humanity. As conflict erupts and the world's politics are shredded, Eugene faces his darkest hour, as he's forced to sacrifice his family's life for humanity.
