Brothers Eddie and Jake Robinson live in a rural area in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina with their widowed father. At fourteen Jake is interested in girls, video games, and most of all, getting a four-wheeler. Eleven-year-old Eddie loves to run, read about nature and animals, and go fishing and swimming.
Their summer fun begins when they receive a mysterious letter from their father's recently decease employer, the richest man in town. The letter gives clues to the location of a treasure, which the boys hope will be something comparable to the hidden treasure they had recently read about in the newspaper. Their summer adventure provides fun, excitement and valuable experiences as the boys learn many life lessons while exploring their natural environment.
