Publisher's Synopsis
Glaucoma is a disease that damages the optic nerve of the eye. Over time, the situation will get worse. It is usually related to the build-up of pressure in the eye. Glaucoma tends to be inherited in families. You usually don't get it until the last few years.
Increased intraocular pressure, called intraocular pressure, damages the optic nerve, which sends images to the brain. If the damage worsens, glaucoma can cause permanent vision loss or even total blindness within a few years.
