Publisher's Synopsis

Three stories in one documentary about WWI and WWII. In 'Murder on the Hill', British broadcaster Robin Thompson recounts the previously untold story of the careless military command that led to the deaths of numerous innocent men. In 'A Soldier's Return', the story of forgotten hero, Corporal Robert Beveridge, is told, from 1916 to the present day. 'Beyond the Barbed Wire' is the story of Auschwitz survivor Ben Altman. Trained as a tailor, Altman was captured but spared by the Nazis due to the useful nature of his skills. When the war ended he moved to San Francisco and set about earning a living through his work. It is here Ben began experimenting with paint and the pieces he creates are fragments of the memories he has of that period in his life.
