Callie Valentine Jones and her cousin Lovie have their work cut out for them. Callie's mama Ruby Nell has gone and entered herself and her dance partner in a Memphis mambo contest, hoping that they can shake, rattle and roll their way to stardom. What should have been a lighthearted romp becomes deadly serious when a serial monogamist in a bright pink gown does a swan dive from the top of a hotel. Then Callie finds an overdressed diva floating in a fountain, leaving little question that there's a murderer loose in Memphis.
