Denn eben dieser Doktor ist auch mit Alex bekannt, sodass ein irrwitziges Katz-und-Maus-Spiel beginnt. Dann taucht noch eine Motorrad-Gang auf, alte Bekannte, neue Feinde - die Autorin geizt nicht mit Schock-Momenten und uuuhhh, einigen sehr expliziten Szenen! Da kann einem schon die Luft wegbleiben. PS: Ich hoffe, das Ganze wird irgendwann verfilmt und, wenn es soweit ist, spiele ich mich selbstverständlich selbst.
'Elizabeth Hunt'* ist das zweite Buch der 'Mag Fornton'-Reihe. Es kann unabhängig vom ersten Buch gelesen werden, allerdings wäre es zu empfehlen, mit dem ersten Band zu starten. Das dritte und letzte Buch wird irgendwann 2023 erscheinen. *enthält deutliche Sprache, explizite Szenen, Gewalt, Drogen- und Alkoholmissbrauch. Bitte verantwortungsvoll lesen. Textauszug: "Guten Morgen, Miss Hunt." Alexander Knightley. In meinem Büro. Mir schwante Böses. Gott, wie konnte dieser Mann nur so unanständig aussehen? Seine Arme ruhten lässig auf der Rückenlehne. Das breite Sofa schien unter ihm zu schrumpfen, wie auch mein Büro. Das dunkelblaue Hemd - maßgeschneidert, was sonst - saß wie angegossen an seinem Astralkörper. Durch die hochgekrempelten Ärmel sah man seine sehnigen tätowierten Unterarme, dass mein Mund wässrig wurde. Seine Haare waren etwas länger, ob mir das gefiel, wusste ich noch nicht. Sein Blick gefiel mir ganz sicher nicht. Er lag irgendwo zwischen 'Ich bin hier, um dir den Hals umzudrehen' und 'Es ist mir egal, was mit deiner Leiche passiert'. Zauberhafte Aussichten. Himmel, es war Montagmorgen! Ich hatte noch nicht einmal gefrühstückt.
"Was machst du hier?" Ich warf einen Blick zur Tür. Sollte ich sie schließen oder vorsichtshalber auflassen? Auflassen, sicher ist sicher. Ich ging zu meinem Schreibtisch und legte meinen dünnen dunkelblauen Mantel ab und den Laptop auf den Tisch. Er blieb sitzen und beobachtete mich. Normalerweise war mir sowas egal, aber was war mit dem Mann schon normal? Verdammt, was wollte er? Ich ignorierte Alex und fragte meine Assistentin nach meinem ersten Termin.
"In einer Stunde." Prima, so hatte ich noch etwas Luft. "Mick wollte vorher aber noch zu dir." Ich hörte ein Schnauben aus Alex Ecke.
"Jaja, ich rufe ihn gleich an. Sonst irgendetwas Spannendes?" Sie überlegte und schüttelte dann den Kopf. Ich scheuchte sie raus. Auf Alex Höhe blieb sie stehen.
"Kaffee, Mr. Knightley?", fragte sie ungewohnt kühl. Kaum merklich schmunzelte er.
"Sehr gern, Jane. Schwarz, koffeinfrei." Weichei!
"Natürlich.", säuselte sie zickig. Sie schloss die Tür lauter als üblich.
"Was hast du mit meiner Assistentin gemacht?" Oh, Gott, er war ihr doch hoffentlich nicht an die Wäsche gegangen? Gelassen stand er auf und setzte sich in den Sessel mir gegenüber.
"Nichts."
