Publisher's Synopsis
Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) is a technology that allows businesses to conduct transactions on electronic forms that are sent over networks. Its use has grown steadily, and with the passing of the Federal Acquisitions Streamlining Act (FASA) it is now required that small businesses (less than 500 employees) use EDI to buy/sell to the government. Agencies will now provide public notifications of purchasing opportunities and vendors will submit bids via EDI. Not only does this work explain in detail what EDI is and how it works, it also describes what kinds of marketing tactics and pricing strategies a company must consider to submit a winning bid, make a profit, and keep the government as a satisfied customer in this order.
