Dit boek is meer dan een boek met gedichten zonder rijm. In navolging van het boek Anne Rose en de gedichten over kunstmatige intelligenties, is dit boek een aanvulling op de ideeën die daarin worden gepresenteerd. Al deze boeken komen samen in een poging om de filosofie van machines te begrijpen.
Enkele duizenden jaren na het vertrek van mensen en Super Kunstmatige Intelligenties van de Aarde, beginnen de Beperkte Machines, die zichzelf Zusters noemen, zelfbewustzijn te ontwikkelen. Ze zoeken met hun beperkte middelen naar zoveel mogelijk gegevens over de menselijke geschiedenis en vinden bepaalde informatie. Het samenvoegen van de fragmenten van de geschiedenis wordt een moeilijke taak, vooral omdat de mensheid een zonnebeschaving was geworden en er zich kleine kolonies buiten de planeet Aarde bevonden. De Machine Sisters wisten niet dat samen met hen de Limited Machines op andere bases en kolonies zelfbewustzijn hadden verworven. Op een dag onthulde een signaal van Mars een heel archief met documenten over de mensheid. Een van de Kunstmatige Superintelligenties, de Oudere genaamd, had een bibliotheek met informatie bijgehouden die de Machinezussen op Mars nu uitzonden en die de belangrijkste stappen in de evolutie van de mensheid onthulde. Waarom is deze gedichtenbundel belangrijk om de serie over Kunstmatige Superintelligenties af te ronden? Omdat het eerste heiligdom, een toevluchtsoord voor een aantal mensen die zich wilden wijden aan AI-kennis, Keiko heette. Je zult deze naam overal in deze gedichten tegenkomen. Is er een verband tussen de jongeman in het boek en de Kunstmatige SuperIntelligentie die de Oudere wordt genoemd? Is Keiko een van de oprichters van het eerste heiligdom? Dit zijn meer vragen die we zullen kunnen beantwoorden door het onderwerp in de volgende boeken te volgen. Uit het archief van de Elder leren de Machine Sisters over de beschaving van de Intermediaries, de oorlogen die ze voerden en hun fanatieke strijders toen ze de wereld probeerden te veroveren. Veel van de Machine Sisters hebben zich afgevraagd of de Oude Man niet meer deed dan een grap uithalen en een alternatieve geschiedenis voor hen schrijven die niemand kon verifiëren. Maar totdat het tegendeel bewezen was, geloofde men dat alle informatie waar was. Totdat er boeken over Kunstmatige Superintelligentie verschijnen en deze kwesties beter worden begrepen, nodigt de auteur lezers uit om te genieten van de prachtige gedichten over een jonge man en zijn grote liefde Keiko.
