As the horse and rider trotted into the meadow, the gray colt started acting up like he wanted to buck. Tom knew horses and could tell that the horse was nervous for some reason. Mexican Grey Wolves were spotted in the area, so Tom discounted the inexperienced horse's anxiety and kept him in the trot. Still, something was not right, he sensed it. It was a tangible sense of gloom that he just couldn't shake.Tom decided to turn back into the tree line where he was less exposed, when suddenly the colt's head exploded like a water balloon on a concrete sidewalk, dropping the horse in its tracks, trapping Tom's leg underneath.Tom struggled frantically to free himself from the dead weight, but his pistol holster had become snagged on the horn of the saddle, complicating his escape. Unbuckling the holster as fast as he could, he struggled out from under the dead horse and made a mad dash for the trees, but a second bullet hit him in the lower back immobilizing him, and a final shot hit him at the base of his neck, ending his life in a cloud of pink mist.From a tree top sniper hide over 300 yards away, an Asian man peered through his rifle scope for any signs of life.
